Terms and Conditions – First Defence Pest Control
1. General
These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by First Defence Pest Control (ABN: 27 363 975 563). By engaging our services, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms.
This agreement may only be amended in writing, including via email or SMS, with the consent of both parties. These terms are governed by the laws of the relevant State or Territory in Australia.
2. Services
First Defence Pest Control will provide pest control services as agreed at the time of booking or consultation.
Services are limited to:
The agreed pest(s)
The specified treatment areas
Conditions discussed with the technician
Any additional pests, areas, or services not included in the original agreement may require a separate inspection and additional charges.
3. Acceptance of Terms
The customer is deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions by allowing the technician access to the property and proceeding with the service.
4. Fees and Payment
Payment is due on the day of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We accept payment via:
EFTPOS
Visa
MasterCard
(No surcharge applies. American Express is not accepted.)
A tax invoice will be provided upon payment.
5. Late Payments and Debt Recovery
Late payments may incur a 2% fee on the outstanding balance.
Unpaid accounts may be referred to debt recovery or legal proceedings, and the customer will be liable for any associated recovery costs.
6. Treatment Effectiveness
All services are carried out with due care and professional skill. However, treatment effectiveness depends on factors outside our control, including:
Customer compliance with instructions
Hygiene and property maintenance
Environmental conditions
Structural changes or renovations
No guarantee is provided where recommendations are not followed or where re-infestation occurs due to external factors.
7. Inspections and Access Limitations
Inspections and treatments are limited to areas that are accessible and visible at the time of service.
Furniture, fixtures, or stored items may restrict access and conceal pest activity. As such, treatments are only applied to accessible areas agreed upon with the technician.
No liability is accepted for pest activity in inaccessible or concealed areas.
8. Customer Responsibilities
The customer agrees to:
Follow all safety and post-treatment instructions
Maintain hygiene and property conditions
Allow safe and reasonable access to the premises
Failure to comply may affect treatment results and void any warranty or guarantee.
9. Access and Safety
The customer must provide safe access to the property, including access to water and power if required.
The customer must advise the technician of any known hazards prior to service, including (but not limited to):
Asbestos
Electrical risks
Structural issues
First Defence Pest Control reserves the right to refuse or stop work if the environment is deemed unsafe.
10. Chemicals and Safety
All products used are approved and applied in accordance with Australian standards.
The customer must:
Follow all safety instructions
Keep children and pets away from treated areas as advised
First Defence Pest Control is not liable for issues arising from failure to follow safety instructions.
11. Damage to Property and Utilities
Some treatments may require drilling or minor alterations to structures.
The customer must inform the technician of the location of utilities such as:
Electrical wiring
Gas lines
Water pipes
First Defence Pest Control will not be liable for damage where the customer has failed to provide accurate information, unless caused by negligence.
12. Reports and Documentation
A report will be provided after service via email.
Reports are prepared solely for the customer and must not be altered or relied upon by third parties without written consent.
13. Warranty and Guarantees
Any warranty provided is subject to:
Full payment of services
Customer compliance with all recommendations
No external factors affecting the property
Failure to meet these conditions will void any warranty.
Follow-up services may incur additional charges unless otherwise agreed.
14. Re-infestation
First Defence Pest Control is not responsible for re-infestation caused by:
Neighbouring properties
Environmental factors
Structural defects or access points not addressed
Preventative recommendations must be followed to minimise recurrence.
15. Cancellations and Missed Appointments
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may incur a $120 administration fee.
Missed appointments (where the technician attends the property) will incur a $180 call-out fee.
16. Complaints
All complaints must be submitted via email to:

We aim to respond within 48 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays).
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, First Defence Pest Control is not liable for:
Indirect or consequential loss
Loss of income, business, or profits
Damage arising from factors beyond our control
Liability is limited to the value of the services provided.
18. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure to perform services due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to:
Weather events
Natural disasters
Accidents or delays
19. Anti-Bribery
Both parties agree not to offer or accept any form of improper inducement or advantage.
Any breach of this clause may result in termination of services.
20. Commercial Customers
For commercial clients, First Defence Pest Control is not liable for:
Loss of business
Loss of revenue or profits
Operational disruption
